How It Works
How we clean windows in Plain City & Central Ohio.
Most window cleaning failures come down to the water, not the technique. Central Ohio is hard-water country — high in calcium and magnesium — so ordinary tap water dries and leaves those minerals behind as spots, no matter how carefully the glass was wiped. We run our water through a deionizing filter first, which strips the minerals out. The glass then dries on its own with nothing left behind to spot.
Interior work is a different problem. Inside, what dulls the glass is film — cooking residue, dust, pet dander and off-gassing from the room itself — and that needs detergent and a squeegee rather than pure water. We work room by room, move what needs moving and put it back, and lay cloths on the sills so nothing lands on your floor.

Screens and tracks first
Screens come out and are washed flat, so frames are never scrubbed through the mesh. Tracks are vacuumed of grit and then wiped — that is where the black gunk lives.

Wash and squeegee
Exterior glass gets a deionized rinse and a fan brush. Interiors get detergent and a squeegee, with the edges hand-detailed because that is where streaks start.

Final check
We look at every pane from inside and out with the light behind us, which is the only angle that shows a missed spot. Screens go back in last.
What changes the price of a window clean
Pane count is the main driver, but two houses with the same number of windows can price differently. Access is the bigger variable — a second-story window above a deck or a planted bed takes longer to reach safely than one over flat lawn. We quote from an actual look at the property rather than a per-window rate off a spreadsheet.
- Number of panes — counted as openings, with grids and storm windows noted separately
- Access and height — ladder setup over beds, slopes or a conservatory roof adds time
- Inside, outside or both — exterior only is quicker; both faces is the usual request

Can you remove hard-water spots from my windows?
In most cases yes. We treat mineral and hard-water staining with specialized solutions; heavy, long-standing etching may improve rather than disappear, and we'll tell you honestly what to expect.
Do you clean screens too?
We do — screens are cleaned and re-fitted as part of the service so more light gets through.
Do you clean the inside of windows as well as the outside?
Yes, interior and exterior. Interior work needs someone home to let us in, and we use drop cloths and shoe covers. Plenty of customers have the exterior done more often and the full interior once a year.
Do you clean the screens and tracks too?
Yes. Screens are removed, washed and refitted, and we clean out the tracks and sills where dirt and dead insects collect. Cleaning the glass but leaving grimy tracks never looks finished.
How do you reach second-story and awkward windows?
With a pure-water pole system that reaches high glass safely from the ground. It filters the minerals out of the water so the windows dry spot free with no detergent residue. Ladders come out only where a pole genuinely can't reach.
How often should windows be cleaned?
Twice a year suits most homes, spring and autumn. Properties on busier roads, near farmland, or with sprinklers hitting the glass usually want more. Commercial storefronts are often monthly, since glass is the first thing customers see.
Can you remove hard water spots from sprinklers?
Often yes. Sprinkler spotting is mineral deposit rather than dirt, so it needs a dedicated treatment instead of ordinary cleaning. If it has been etching the glass for years it may not come back fully, and we'll tell you what to expect before charging for it.
